Charity: Water is a foundation created by Scott Harrison. Scott was a photojournalist for a couple of years for a Mercy Ships - an organization that provided free medical care to people in the world's poorest countries. He took many photographs during his time in Africa and noticed that most of Africa's parishment was due to lack of drinkable water - many people; women and children, had to spend hours a day fetching water miles away from their villages therefore taking up time that they could use to better their village, gather food, and other important tasks. The water was in many cases diseased and was in no way clear or clean - it was brown and unpleasant The water leaves the people of the village sick with diarrhea and dehydrated, giving them a thirst for the water that has done this to them in the first place. Charity: Water's mission is to bring clean, drinking water to the villages and people of African villages. Over 1 Billion people are living without clean water.
